I've been saying I'd do it for weeks.  And for weeks I've avoided doing it:  Talking to my BF.  I'm UNHAPPY with our relationship on SOOOO many levels.  it's not one thing I can point to and say "there, that's the problem."  Rather it's a bunch of little things that when taken together form a very depressing pattern.

Most people don't realize that they can't fix people. They do spend years making themselves miserable, for reasons they can't change. The fact you do realize it's his battle means you're taking care of yourself, which is ALWAYS your priority. If you can take care of yourself, you can't help anyone else.

You did the right thing. Hopefully, he'll listen to you and start crawling out of his hole. It IS hard, but as long as he WANTS things to change, they CAN. *hugs*

Good luck, and just remember, if he doesn't, he's not the one you love. Someday, he might be again, but right now, his influence on your life is unacceptable.

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. But, after a certain point, you have to look after yourself and your own happiness. If you have to get rid of him to be happy, you owe it to yourself to do so.
