Mirai Theater EP01
A quick summary of what Koyashige said during the first episode. I'm watching this before work so I skipped the meat of the episode and only watched their talk parts.
Basically the first half talks about a girl who is the slump of her life. Here Koyashige are asked about their own slumps. They comment that right now would be the slump and discuss the Yamapi and Ryo leaving the group.
Kei mentions that NEWS has had a lot of slumps, mentioning that Yamapi and Ryo leaving the group last year and that it felt that they had lost sight of their goal.
Shige mentions that NEWS was originally 9 people and it was tough with that many people. When he was a junior he felt he was kinda a big shot, but when in NEWS he felt that there were too many members that stood out. That perhaps if by being there he was preventing the others from shining more that it would have been easier if he wasn't there and that he actually considered leaving. However in the end he didn't leave because that's how much he liked being in the group and with those members.
Kei adds in that worry about "even if we debut, will we really be successful?" He adds that perhaps one of the results they've made is thinking about "how we will continue to after on after we've debuted." Kei mentions that until he had gotten his position as a news caster he was really lost about what to do.
Shige also couldn't really answer the question of "what do you have (your accomplishments)?" and that originally he couldn't really answer that. So he thought about doing something he could do and he had originally liked to write so he decided to just keep writing. At one point he was really worried about not finishing the book, but if he had let that go he felt like he would be losing to himself so he just keep giving it his all. He said in that moment he felt he himself has really changed.
Then they were asked about how they feel about the two members who left.
Shige says straight out that he would like them all to do their best. Shige talks about how he didn't feel anything bad at all, no negative feeling and what not. That if they have such resolution to do that, then before they were allies working together but not they can be rivals.
Kei mentions that originally he couldn't grasp it and couldn't forgive them. But after thinking it through and sorting his feelings out he thought "ah, now we can battle it out." That he want to show them that NEWS will still fight on without them. Lastly they just gotta do it.
Shige mentions that this is what they would like to say in 5 years.
Kei says "yeah, like 'we were all messed up that time, but now...' "
We finally get to hear their story. I'm really glad with the decision they've made after sorting all their feelings out. NEWS ganbare~!
