Oh, thank you! I completely agree that it was rushed. I think there would have been far more impact had they somehow made it a two parter or something. It *could* have worked, but as it was written, there was just no emotional impact for me.
Though I did love the end with everyone walking away from Clark, and the Lionel/Martha bit, and solitary Lex. Very pretty.
It was weird the way they decided to do this ep. Like - they couldn't have really milked Lana's death scene for too much because you know they'd never kill Lana for real. But if they had slowed this down it could've been a lot better. I would've liked it if they had shown more of the reprecussions of Lana's death. I wanna know if Lex was sober enough to believe what he just saw.
And then Jonathan's death was just strange. I mean - here's a guy who can fly and he just sits there holding his father? I bought that Clark didn't try to get help for Lana b/c I'm pretending he could see that her neck was broken. But hospitals can ocasionally fix people who have just had heart attacks!
This ep had serious pacing issues.
That funeral sure was pretty though. I'm really happy with the way that did that.
