HAPPY 100th, SMALLVILLE!!!!!
I love 100th eps. They are always special. It's like validation for the creators, writers, actors - you made an actual television show. It wasn't a fluke, they didn't just air it b/c they had nothing better to put on. You made it all the way to #100. Your show is for real.
So congratulations, Smallville! You made it.
As for the plot...
Oh thank god I will never see the sight of Jonathan Kent the senator! What a ridiculous plot line. I'm so glad it's over. Killing Jonathan wasn't a big surprise. I was scared for a second when Chloe vowed to watch Lana that she might get killed. But that didn't happen.
I can't believe they almost got engaged. Bleh.
The Lex scenes in this ep were really good. MR is so awesome. I liked the first one because of the way I could feel his frustration with Lana. He got aggressive with Lana in a similar way he was aggressive with Chloe a few months ago, but it was worse with Lana b/c he has a sort of friendship with Lana. And you could just see him thinking 'You little bitch!!' Which was amusing. Loved his reaction to seeing Clark run to the crime scene.
I *really* liked the second one though b/c of the Lexana. The way KK delivered that line that she & Clark had had their last fight - and then the silence after that. That was so well done. There was just so much emptyness. And that's what makes Lexana work - people who have tried so hard to find love but all they've really found is each other. Loved it. I sooooooo love where they are going with this.
My favorite scene though was the positioning at the end of the funeral. Lex off in the distance. Lana letting go of Clark. Lionel pacing & stalking MamaKent. I liked that a lot. It makes me think they've still got stories to tell on this show.
Overall - not a very good ep. The timing was rushed and the plot points were bad and it was just trying to be too much. This probably should've been a 2 hr "event" or something. It was really rushed.
