Game of Thrones, episode 2

How do people who haven't read the books keep up with the show? How do you keep track of the characters? Also, I can't believe how many fundamental changes they're making. Like I stated earlier, I think of the show and the series as completely different entities so I don't care, but they're painting some characters in completely different lights ( ( Read more... )

Oh good. Like, do you know that one guy who keeps hanging around Robb and was all I WILL KILL THE PUPS in the first episode? He's kind of a major deal in the books and I don't think his name has been said in the show yet, LOL. But as long as you're enjoying the show as-is it's all good!

I find that I'm keeping up with all the storylines fine, it's the character's names I can't tell you except for the main obvious ones. I also feel that if it isn't show or stated on the show, then it doesn't exist. That said, I have been wiki-ing things to find out more about what will happen in the future...

Oh, don't Wiki :( maybe you'll decide to read the books later, and you don't want to be spoiled for everything then!

I doubt I'll ever read them. I don't think I've ever read any fantasy book. Not really my thing, and I prefer scifi. Besides, there's so much detail that I'm sure I'll forget a lot of it by then. ;)

I'd been thinking the show so far has been a direct lifting of the books, but you're right, some key stuff is different, characterization wise! Ha, Khal Drogo. That guy. He's totally rapier but then on the other side of things they're making him really quickly romantic-y about her? His face at the end...IDK. I love their relationship in the books though.

But mostly I just want to agree so much about Sansa! That actress is distractingly bad. I don't like her character anyway but this makes it that much more frustrating. I'm surprised they cast her, everyone else is so good, even if I don't like how they look (coughjonsnow).

Aw, Khal. I think they did him a disservice on the show by not being nice to Dany on their wedding night. :/ but the last episode gave me hope!

OH GOOD. I thought it was me! I love every other actor/actress, but her..ugh. What don't you like about Jon Snow?
