Chemicals
Whew! My hair's full of bleach, and my nostrils just caught a whiff of something that can't be healthy for my lungs! Not quite toxic, but possibly caustic. Anyway, it's inspiration.
Chemicals are all around us. Whether it's the dye in our clothes (or in my hair), perfume to make you smell good, spray on the crops to keep them bug-free or the substances in a chemist's lab. Interpret as widely as you like, just someone stick a bio-hazard sign on the back of my head...!
