Wow. Just... wow. I watched it first in lecture (I would have skipped lecture if she didn't take roll, but since she does, I just took my laptop and enjoyed myself). I just finished watching it a second time now in the comfort of my room, and I have gathered my thoughts about it ( Read more... )

Not reading, not reading!! *Hands on ears* Oh I'm so frustrated, there at least another 8 hours to go before I'll have time to check this out. I've been soooooooo looking forward to it.

Just watched it... oh man. What a wonderfully done film! I would have paid money to have seen this. The Dunedain settlement was just about as I imagine them, the interactions, the "ordinary life" aspects... all so wonderfully done. I'm going to babble on about it on my own LJ but I will mention that I didn't find the slow fight scenes too annoying. I've seen that overused but I thought this one had the right amount. I had a problem with the playback toward the end of the movie so having it in slo-mo actually assisted that a little.

Oh yea, I would have paid money too. And if I wasn't so bloody broke (not to mention actually had a paypal account..) I'd give a few bucks. Maybe I will once I have something resembling cash in the next few months XD

Heh, slow fight scenes are a pet peeve of mine; I've never been a large fan of them XD One reason I probably like PJs LOTR fight scenes so much (well, one of the reasons) is because the slow mo is used very sparingly.

It's a fantastic film, and so faithful to Tolkien's story. Iworwen words about the meaning of Aragorn, and the ending with Gilraen reciting her linnod in Rivendell is perfection itself.

I loved the bow toss, it was very "we do this all the time, yeah." And those two scenes between Arathorn and Dirhael, the first one was very "Good Sabbath, Reb Tevye," if you've ever seen Fiddler on the Roof, so that absolutely cracked me up, and after the second one, when Arathorn's not entirely sure whether Dirhael actually said yes ( ... )

Yea, both of those scenes were great, though I have not seen Fiddler on the Roof (though I've heard good things about it ( ... )
