Skinny loves this setup. The moonshine gives him a schedule; it gives him something to do with his hands and his time that isn't books and classes and theory and arguments. He gets to spend time out in the woods, and he gets a fine and useful product at the end of it. It's relaxing, and if he can't have home, at least he can have this ( Read more... ) -

He wakes up much, much too early, with his key and his dog tags imprinted on his cheek. He knows it's too early because the sun is shining, and given his hangover Skinny might need another couple of years to sleep this off. Skinny's used to less than ideal sleeping conditions. Hell, it's pretty much a way of life in the military, and the things he's learned to sleep through could fill a book.
