Winter has finally hit North Dakota, like a cup full of ice being launched in 40 mph winds and a never ending supply. According to the weather channel, KMOT, officially, Minot has received 9 inches of snow with more to come. The Rough Rider Marathon was amazing and as usual the same crowd of eager athletes trying to accomplish a feat, which most people find extremely painful were there and ready to run. Holy cow.... my race is only two days away and the pre-race jitters are so intense that the only thing my mind thinks about is the awesome drive to Bismarck, with my pre-race CD blaring (including AFI, Trans Am, and songs a coworker put on a CD for me as a good luck gift). Planning to start training is as painful mentally as having a long cry after an emotional conversation. This past week something happened that put a halt in my training runs for the big race approaching at the end of September. Work is great, running is better, sceanary is perfect, people are nice, time is minimal, movies are fun, life...well...okay I'll stop. Cheers!! More of an update this weekend. Time to run 6 miles and see a movie :)
