They found a world they can believe in, but only when they close their eyes

Hm, I feel ever so slightly maudlin today. Probably a combination of effects: listening to Leonard Cohen, being almost entirely alone for the better part of two days, national events... well yes, those are ever so slightly worrying ( Read more... )

my neck hurts from the vehement nodding that i'v been doing as i go through your post.
im generally annoyed with the whole rock/alternative scene, its so full of people trying so hard to fit into a certain label... kinda defeats the whole point of calling yourself 'different' does it not?

Well, precisely. I don't see how people can notice how contradictory their behaviour is. It's not that I specifically mind people buying into a certain stereotype, more that I like people to be honest about it, or whatever. *shrug*

I actually love you right now! A few weeks ago one of my flatmates said to me, "You're an indie kid aren't you?", which I took great offence to, because indie kids are pretentious and would rather put together their terribly alternative outfit than actually enjoy the music they claim to love so much. IT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY!!!

The Arctic Monkeys' new album is just TERRIBLE.

Aw yeah, being called an indie kid would be like... the ultimate insult. And it makes me really angry too.

God, yeah, it really is, isn't it! I didn't pay any money for it and yet just seeing it in my itunes fills me slightly with rage. And did you see them on Jonathon Ross last night? They were dressed as clowns. Erm, what?

Grrr.
