As for the Diva cup, I have mixed feelings. I don't like contributing to landfill waste either, but I really can't stand having that much inside me, but it's not really a size thing for me - I have to use the small kind of tampons for the fit to be comfortable. I've been test driving various versions of the reusable pad though, and I like those much more. If you were good with regular tampons though, I suspect you'll be fine.
My family thinks it's disgusting, but they're all acclimated to junk food, so it's their loss. :)
Whenever I used tampons, it would be the big ones. I have a somewhat heavy flow, so they worked the best. I didn't have much of a problem with them (unless I didn't do a good job of inserting them at the right angle), but the width of the cup is a bit bigger than a tampon. Ah well, I hope I end up loving it.
