Just reporting that my bass lesson with the new teacher went great! It's what a lesson should be because I went there one way, and left improved, motivated and ready to work on stuff. It's a thing all teachers should strive for... some very real improvement for their students ( Read more... )

It's been awhile since i've been around here and the first post I see is a good one. :) I'm glad to see you are still playing and having a renewed enthusiasm. You can probably kick my butt on bass now!

No, I'm not better than you. Just different. :)

At the beginning of July I had two different concert experiences with Matt and Trip. It was the first time I'd seen him since quitting his lesson studio. He asked me if I was still playing. I didn't think he meant anything by it at the time, but it's a strange question. It's not as if I got so depressed from leaving his lesson studio that I quit the instrument. I just quit him, not the instrument ( ... )

I know EXACTLY what you meant with regards to Matt's question.
After a year in my very first band, we had an ugly break up.

A few months later, I saw the guitar player/singer and she asked me the same thing. I had the EXACT reaction to it as you did to Matt's question. It came accross as arrogant as if I would just roll up into a mushy little ball and quit music all because of her as if she had THAT much power and influence over me. lol

Once a bass mom, always a bass mom. :) I'll bet you even attempt to wear colors that compliment the bass too. huh? huh? Am I right? I do that :) heheh
