It was an awesome day at club yesterday despite being majorly hungover.  I got 8 games in and went 6-2, with my first game against Dave being a landmark game and being able to play YTTERBIC again in my last game.

Your play may have approached expert level, I just drew well and had a series of easy, high-scoring plays ( ... )

Nope, I just spaced on CEHINST. Pretty bad, but I am known for that kind of crap.

That has to be one of the most stylish bingos possible.
YTT and RB combo in the same word, all ending with C.

Thanks. It's a word I have sort of a history with. I was facinated with YTTERBIUM in elementary school, and used to tell people that it was the only word with my name backwards in it. Now, of course, I know that is a baldfaced lie, but the words has stuck. In competitive play, I've played YTTERBIC twice, and YTTERBIA twice. Hence the screenname.

So I figured my 46 point JEWEL play was a no-brainer, but Quackle ranks it 8th when I ran 70,000 iterations of a many ply sim of the top 50 suggestions. Though it has a 71.89% win percentage, it sims below other plays with M12 HUP being best at around 80%. HEP at the same spot and n* (O)UPH and (O)UPHE were also better. I can see the logic in blocking the bingo lines while keeping JEWEL or JEEP for future plays, but I'm not even remotely close to seeing and rationalizing that type of play over the board. With an 8 point lead and 9 unseen tiles, I'm usually looking for the extra 20 points and not to close down the board. Guess I still have a long ways to go before I start playing top-notch Scrabble.

Wow great game, as to the play...I can see were holding off on JEWEL could lead to two decent scores in a row, I can not see how OUPHE is even a thought though that leads to a very easy 43 point MAWN play or something of that ilk ( ... )
