Yeah, that would make Jack pretty commitment-phobic, if he'd been burned at such a young age. Also a nice reminder that sexually-open societies aren't necessarily any easier to negotiate from a relationship standpoint than ours is, not really . . .

I'm sure Rose and Ten will be very diligent in making this Jack feel wanted. :)

Communication isn't always the easiest thing to wrest out of partners, and Jack learns that the hard way. :( Believe me, he's going to be doing a *lot* of communicating with the Doctor and Rose, just to make sure nothing like that happens again--and once they realise his fear, they'll be talking to him a lot, too.

and oh yes, Rose and Ten will be VERY happy to make sure he feels just as wanted as he actually is....:)

Aw, poor Jack. :( After going through that, it'll take him a while before he can truly believe in what he has now... The other two will have to be so gentle and patient... Good thing it's them. :)

Yeah, they will. They have some suspicion that he's been hurt pretty badly in the past, though they don't know the details (yet), and they know they're going to have to be careful. Especially when adding a third into an established relationship--it's *so* easy to make the third feel like an outsider just because the couple has such a history together.

Especially when that history includes traveling through time and saving the world and crossing the void between universes together...

Aww, poor Jack. *huggles him* I was so glad to see more of this 'verse! I seem to be writing alt!Jack stories in my head all the time these days. Am resisting putting them down on paper, though, because you and dameruth are doing them so well.

Please, sir, may I have some more?

We'll see how things go--it depends on how deeply my Muse sinks her claws into me. I've got a couple more things going, including an original, so I may or may not get to this right away. But I'll keep it in mind, I promise! (Edited because I can't type tonight.)
