You know how long I've been waiting for this story! I was thrilled when you took it from the bonus ficathon prompts, and I loved the first page or so when you showed it to me way back when. And it just gets better from there :) I love the last few paragraphs, the way Rose - and I imagine the Doctor too - noticed Jack looking, and understood what he wanted, and wanted it too.

This is so sweet:

"Rose, I would never-"

"Never what?" she said, when he hesitated. "Ask, or want?"

Jack looked down, took a deep breath, and let it out shakily. "Ask," he said. "Not unless I knew you wanted it, too-or had good reason to think so."

And what a place to leave it! Can't wait for more :)

Chapter 2 is finished and back from beta; I'll probably post it Sunday (since tomorrow's a big holiday here in the States). I'm working on Chapter 3 now. :)

Very... appealing beginning. Sending in Rose by herself was a good idea, especially if this Jack doesn't know the Doctor well. I look forward to discovering how this Jack compares to his counterpart.

Oh, thank you! I'm glad you agreed. :)

The main difference between this Jack and the other Jack is that alt!Jack is less cocky, more contemplative. (Which you won't see a whole lot of in this PWP fic, but I've got it all worked out in my brain. :)) Where the other Jack might have come up to the Doctor and Rose in Spain and made his offer, this one didn't, for the reasons he mentions and more.

I like How there's sort of a lead in with the beach bit, but it's still outta the blue for Jack. Also, the fact that Jack is hesitant because he's an awesome sort of guy is awesome. Dose Jack know Rose and The Doctor are from another universe?

No, he doesn't; he does know that Rose sort of appeared out of nowhere a few years before, because the whole country knows that, but he doesn't know anything about where they're from. And they don't really know much about how he's different from their Jack, aside from being a bit less cocky. They do know that there's a connection there between them, but that's it.

Yay! This looks like it'll be a fun one. Poor Rose, getting all embarrassed like that when there was no need--but I can definitely understand. It's not exactly something you easily ask a friend. Can't wait for more!
