Aw, that's such a cute first word! And you were identifying something, which is actually kind of advanced.

(My first word was "more", appropriate since I was not a good share-er as a child)

Unfortunately Katrina destroyed any record of what my first word was, but my dad claims he's sure it was "doughnuts" or "shoes"...somehow I don't think that's true, although I did, at about 18 months old, tell my dad "Daddy, I want doughnuts! Go get me doughnuts!"...and he did...nah I wasn't spoiled lol

I haven't heard what my first word was. I'll have to ask.

I do know that I wouldn't talk to my parents. The neighbors would always tell them how well I talked though :). Dad finially got me to talk by going to a doughnut shop and pretending that there was not enough for me. I told him "Daddy, I want some!!"

My first word was "Awe" which is what I called my grandmother. I picked that up because my Grandpa teased my Grandma that she was a "grand-MAW".

That's exactly how my youngest pronounced it when he first started talking. Now he's says it correctly, but I remember him pointing at any and every light source he saw, and saying, "Dite!"
