hehe I totally didn't squee when I read that :D

The history books sound fascinating. I love British History and she sounds like a brilliant author. I might have to see if they have any of her books in Australia.

If they do, you should definitely check them out! She actually makes the Wars of the Roses more or less understandable, which is a hell of a feat. :)

I started with The Wars of the Roses, because everything that follows that--including the Princes in the Tower and the whole Tudor dynasty--is a result of the whole Lancaster/York thing.

(It's funny; there are STILL white roses all over Yorkshire, especially the city of York, and red roses on Manchester buses [in Lancashire]. Six hundred years later!)

I adore Alison Weir and I especially loved The Princes in the Tower. I've read that book at least twice, maybe more. It's one of the most fascinating pieces of historical non-fiction I own.

I'm about halfway through it and adoring it. I want to meet Alison Weir so I can fangirl all over her. *grin*

You'd probably love "A Strange Alchemy" by Emma Darwen. It's a brilliant novel told from the POV of Elizabeth Woodville, the princes' mother, and her brother Anthony, following the last day of his life as he rides to his execution.

have you read any Phillipa Greggory books? They're historical, she does some really great ones about Henry the 8th and his 6 wives. The other Boleyn girl is amazzzing. There's a film of it too, I think.

Not yet, but I've seen them and thought seriously about picking them up. Are they history or historical fiction?
