Flirting does seem more complicated when more than one gender is involved. It may be partly why I went the gay route as I started wanting to have sexual relationships, flirting in the gay world seemed more straightforward to me. Though now it seems younger gays are affected by the MeToo movement and many have put up more barriers to flirting than I'm used to. Plus young'uns seem far far more anxious about meeting a potential sexual partner than I recall us all being 25 years ago (even though it is more legal and more socially acceptable for us gays than it used to be).
I feel that somebody expressing a sexual interest in you shouldn't be a bad thing, so long as you're fully empowered to say "no thank you" and they then respect that - don't keep pestering. But what I view as some of the excesses of MeToo have led many people to think that merely flirting is a form of aggression. So, how are we to express an interest in each other then? Is everybody to become ace and aro because some people are? Or must we assume everybody else
