I'm reading Fraternity Gang Rape for an anthropology class (Politics of the Body). I'm highly disturbed and a little depressed about it! Can anyone cheer me up by reassuring me that this is not normal behavior.

I'm seriously disgusted by masculinity right now, and I would rather not be.

I'm so sorry! That sounds awful. I'm always resentful when professors make me confront things I would just as soon not think about.

Why not have some cinnamon applesauce? That sounds more cheerful, right?

Hahaha...no. It's from a Hindi film. That's Delnaaz Paul in the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho. And you totally inadvertently just cheered me up, because now I'm imagining Lindsey Lohan as the much-abused "fat" best friend in a Bollywood movie. Lol.

Aww...yay! I'm a Bollywood prosthelitizer! If you continue reading my journal, you'll see that I write about it A LOT. Which I kind of feel bad about, because so few on my flist are Bollywood fans...but I find it excellent. I have a broader obsession with India, so it fits within that.

I'm not actually on myspace. I'm a bit of a technophobe, and had to be convinced (peer pressured...) into lj. I am on facebook, though. If you are, I could do a you-locked post telling you my real name, so we could be facebook buddies...

I'm from Baltimore (Towson, actually...) and currently go to school in DC. I still have a room in my mom's house, though (when it isn't filled with her crap)! I looove Charm City. I totally identify with its quirkiness.

As far as I know one of the frats here engage in such behavior. Instead they get together and burn things.

When I was working on that paper on marital rape last semester I would do random searches on youtube...
