I don't know what to say...I'm shocked.

And I don't want to hear Lippi's reasons for dropping Pazzini.

Good luck to Monty and Gambit anyway...

I'm beginning to believe that Pazzo and Monty are just not meant to be together.

What the hell is the point of the friendly if it's not to see which newbies are worthy of a place in the Cup squad? Poor Pazzini. I guess being in form for your club gets you dropped? Trying to figure out what goes on in Lippi's head is making mine hurt.

I hope Rossi actually gets to play during the tournament.

Maybe he's going Domenech-style, and basing his picks on astrology now? *sigh*

Hear hear on Beppe -- it's about time that boy got a chance to play in a competitive senior match.

about Toulon. well, cuz our boys need to be in U-21 championship, that's why we can't defend the title plus, I suspect France didn't invite us cuz they want their title back *g*

Ah, ok. I was thinking they might send the babies instead -- the next crew of real U19s, or something. Bummer. Speaking of Toulon, what's up with Pelle, have you heard anything about him this season? How'd he do?

I'm hoping Palombo does well enough to make people forget about the Brighi slight (I like both of them a lot) but beyond that ... yeah. If this ground doesn't do well, do you think the media will finally start laying into him as if he was human, rather than Untouchable World Cup Winner Lippi?

My list of prayers:

1) Chiellini doesn't break Il Capitano again before the tourney begins.

2) Monty starts.

3) Lippi isn't stoopid enough to keep playing Looca when he's flat.

4) Rino goes Mad Dog on the opposition.

5) Canna grows his damned hair back!

(Who the hell is carrying this tourney, btw?)

*notes them all down carefully* (Regarding your point #2, boy I hope if he does, he's a whole lot better than he's been for Italy up until now -- it's been positively cringe-worthy to this point! Eep.)

And here's a handy list of TV coverage in the US.

Aw, man, isn't that sort of kicking you when you're down? But Paolo's retiring, and that baby defender will be playing next season! That's gotta halve the average age, nearly.
