Pazzo is freaking me out there *backs away slowly*
I'm a bit glad that Santon is going. I hope he can learn a lot both sport wise and mentality wise. I like Lippi will watch him closely so hopefully he can get back on track.
(I'm actually upset Brighi's not there, and have commenced ritual flagellation to correct the situation. I am, however, quite pleased about Monty, Gambit, and Dogfish.)
LOL With both him and Pazzo, isn't it always safest to just assume the answer to the makeup question is "yes"?
(Fabi's a back, that won't work at all! Just because your passport means you have to hate Grosso doesn't mean Brighi can play his role, you know. Sadly.)
Hmmmmmm. Well, I bow before your makeup knowledge under all circumstances, but that goes double when Monty and Pazzo are involved. Do you think he waits til after training to get pretty?
OH! And you know that rich-kids-with-the-hot-tutor show I asked you about? It's called Privileged, and didn't get renewed for the fall. I feel better having solved that mystery.
Oh, man, you are so right on. ARG. (Do you know who's doing the games? If John Harkes is involved, I'm doubly happy I'm in Portugal and won't be subject to US announcers. *g*) Is Bradley taking the same team he's using in qualifying?
I realize there's no way the answer to this can be short, but can you give me a summary of what went wrong last night? Were Costa Rica just better, or the US awful, or what?
(I'm pretty sure it'll be the usual ESPN broadcast team- Harkes, Dellacamara, Rae, Smyth. My mute button will be put to good use.) The squad is going to be announced on Saturday- it'll probably be similar to the qualifying roster but you never know.
Okay, well, first off, Costa Rica is a really hard place to play. They haven't lost at home this campaign, and our goal last night was the first they'd had scored on them there. And the US has never won there ever. So there was that. Then there were players playing out of position for the US- I mean, Damarcus Beasley as a left back? When there were 2 left backs on the roster? REALLY? He's a midfielder who has't played a match since April. WTF. The first goal was unstoppably beautiful. The second and third were preventable. It was just not a good game overall.
*goes off to sulk* *realizes that sulking is not good training for the likely result of the Denmark-Sweden match this weekend, and goes off to hit things and swear loudly instead*
You know what, I think I'm even more annoyed at the inclusion of Monty than I am at the exclusion of Pazzo. Of course, I'd prefer them both to go (or neither, so I can imagine them spending the time decorating Monty's new house and ignoring all of Gambit's text messages telling them he is going to go INSANE if Gattuso does not SHUT UP), but if only one of them gets to go -- FFS, Lippi, Pazzo's been much more on form than Monty, and this is from a slavering Monty fangirl. Pazzo's even scored for you, while Monty's done bugger all. I'm beginning to believe all those whiners over at the Azzurri Offside are right about you after all.
*chokes on drink* It's so, so depressing to admit, but the absence of Krol helps everything. (It's not our rather shaky defense I'm worried about, though, it's our COMPLETE LACK OF STRIKERS.)
(You do realize that the opportunity for angst inherent in two Denmark-Sweden games is what made me decide to support Denmark in the first place, right?)
(Poor Gambit, thinking he was finally going to have peace with them out his hair. The fool!) Lippi definitely LOVES Monty, he talks about him all the time. It did look for a while there like he really like Pazzo too, though, I wonder what's up. Could it be down to where they play, do you think? Like, he wanted one more midfielder but not another striker? Or just random Pazzo!hate?
(I had no idea that was the case! So you started like Denmark to spite Sweden, or what?)
DDR reuniting with McBride! I wish, but BMB retired from international play after the 06 world cup. He came back for the Olympics, but that was for sure it. :\

I am a bit scared.
Also, pretty much all the stupid ESPN commentators are going to talk about during the US-Italy game is Rossi. Gag me with a freaking spoon.
