Well, if it's any consolation, if coolbyrne hadn't hauled her ass all the way from Canada and let me tag along, I never would have gotten there, either. She's the one with the get-up and go.
And The Love Ride will happen again next year. And it'll still be 7 minutes from your house, unless you move. :) You can keep track here: loveride.org

Heh. Maybe next year. *grin* But, that being said, I did get him to go down on bended knee with no prompting whatsoever. Up at the lake, he asked me if I was coming back next year. I told him I wasn't sure; I was thinking of going to Ireland, and my finances only allow one trip a year. So someone who was standing near him said, "You lost out to Ireland, Robert." He gave me this real sad puppy dog look, paused, then took my hand, bent down on one knee, and pressed his forehead against my hand. A few moments of this (and me laughing), he stood up, then nodded. "It's okay. You should go to Ireland. We'll be here when you get back."
So sweet.
Hopefully I'll be able to use up my own LJ space (*grin*) within the next couple of days to give the playback from start to finish. But right now, I am freakin' exhausted.
