So

Oh my Lord God. I would have passed out just from his first greeting. [...] Do you have his phone number now?
To be honest, the greeting took me quite by surprise. :) He had a bunch of people around him, and I wasn't expecting to be addressed very quickly, but I guess
azarsuerte had let him know that her "partners in crime" were on the way, so my arrival was already part of a previous conversation.
And for whatever reason it left his mouth, that greeting is not likely to leave my BRAIN for a very long time. :)
So the greeting happened more quickly than I was expecting, thus I didn't quite have my wits about me (this is assuming I ever do), and the hug turned out a little awkward, with me doing this weird, reserved, one-arm hug that I often do. I immediately regretted it, feeling I'd come off as all uptight, and resolved to do something flirty later, as
coolbyrne and I had agreed that, no matter how incredibly married he is (and he is), he remains quite the casual flirt. :)
My chance came when I noticed some of the other women (and he was surrounded with NOTHING but women) taking pictures with him as he sat on this BAD-ass bright red Harley he driven in on. (I mean, I'm not into bikes, per se, but this bike? GUH.) I had pretty much no agenda when I went to see him this time - I hadn't really planned on taking a picture with him (as I already have one), but this was an opportunity. Most of the women were standing and leaning into the shot while he remained seated. I decided I would have none of that. As one woman finished taking her picture, I announced "My turn!", walked over and tossed my leg over the bike to sit on the passenger's seat behind him. I then put my arms around his waist and my chin on his shoulder, and had my picture taken that way. :P (Hey, that's the way you really ride as a passenger!) I heard somebody say "She's not shy," and no, right about then, I wasn't. :P I now have to rely on the kindness of
coolbyrne to send me the pix, which were on good ol' fashioned film, as her digital camera didn't work well enough to suit her.
The only other "agenda" that cropped up that day was the realization that, as an animation writer, I often write parts with certain actors' voices in mind, and if I ever actually got into a situation where 1) I'd written a part for him and 2) I had clearance to ask him to do it, he wouldn't know who I was without seeing my face in its usual fangirl setting. So when I had a chance, I gave him my card and explained. He took it with a nod and held up both hands, palms down, signaling for me to put mine underneath this so he could slap his into them. I did, and he did. "Write me somethin' good!" he said.
And then we did the Rallys thing.
queenofattolia wanted to know: How did you manage to eat and drink in front of him?
You know what? By that point, it was my fourth time meeting him, and I was actually pretty damn calm. :) And even if it hadn't been a repeat meeting, he's so welcoming and easy-going about fans being there that he puts you at ease pretty quickly. And like I said, I'd gotten most of my "agenda" (getting pictures, saying things I wanted to tell him, etc.) taken care of on previous visits, so I wasn't worried about "making" anything happen. I was just there to tag along, so I could just be happy with whatever surprises (or greetings ;->) happened.
And I don't have his phone number, but judging by the way she works him,
coolbyrne just might. ;) Check her and
azarsuerte's LJs for any more info they may have posted.
