Will's dr thinks he might have coxsackievirus - hand foot and mouth disease- although he only diagnosed him over the phone (didn't see in person). Will does not have any rash on his hands or feet at all, though. So it might not be it.
but you should mention to your doctor, because maybe Will was infectious on Thurs. :( I'm so sorry. I had NO idea Will was sick, he was fine until Saturday night. And he wasn't really around any other kids so I have no idea how he got it, if that is even what he has.
and you know, he's been so talkative lately I doubt that's what he has because he wouldn't be happily screeching to himself right now if he had a sore throat.
also, it looks like even if that IS what William has and Lance was exposed to it, it is one of those "let it run its course" kind of things anyway. So if he gets a fever obviously we will monitor him but its not like he will need lots of meds or whatever.
I did a little research and the incubation period is 2-10 days--is it possible that William picked it up from one of the kids he was playing with when you did your neighborhood thing? And I'm actually not that worried about Lance because you would think that his poor little underdeveloped immune system would present symptoms on the earlier end of the time line and it has been 3 days already. But I will mention it to the Dr when we see her today...thanks so much for the heads up!! :)
also, it looks like its one of those things that is passed mainly through contact with fecal matter--and you wash your hands after you change Will, AND you washed your hands AND anti-bac'ed before you touched Lance. So I'm not to worried at all. :)
