NINE hours last night!! Hooooooooyah!!
So shark week this year is kinda sucking. Remember how it used to be all sharks, all the time, for 8 days on the Discovery Channel? Well this year not so much. It was all sharks all the time on Sunday, and it looks like it will be all sharks all the time on Saturday, but other than that its like all sharks from 9pm until about 4am, then paid programming until 9am, then maybe one or two more hours of sharks, then 5 hours of like AMERICAN CHOPPER…how does THAT fit in with shark week, I ask you!! And then maybe another hour of sharks, then a few more hours of American Chopper or something else equally un-shark, and then sharks again from 9pm until 4am again. How dumb is that?! Also, when did it morph from Shark Week into Great White Week? It seems like 90% of the new shows (the few that there are) are all about Great Whites. Hello…there ARE other kinds of sharks out there!! I mean seriously, watching Great Whites breach is pretty darn cool, but one “Air Jaws” was enough, thank you. And if you are going to profile sharks in the Pacific, what about the Hammerheads that breed off the coasts of Hawaii, or the black tip reef sharks near Guam? Oh well. Still sharks, still fun.
Lance is learning that swing time means naptime, which is great for now-he is getting to be on a routine, and I am also noticing that he is dropping off around the same times, whether or not he is in the swing. In about a month or so I will start transitioning him to his crib for naptimes, but I am wondering which should come first-napping in the crib or sleeping in the crib at night. So anyone out there who happens to be reading this, I would love some feedback. Is it better to hold off having him nap in his crib until he is used to sleeping the night in there, or would napping in his crib actually help him adjust to sleeping the night in there?
I got on the scale this morning, and, even with full breasts (which I have noticed adds at least a pound or two) I had lost 3 more pounds. I am happy about that, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens when I am able to add more exercise etc into my daily routine.
Lance gets his shots today. He also sees the doctor, which means he will get weighed. I am curious to see what is going on with my little meatloaf. 3 weeks ago he weighed 11 pounds 2 ounces. I know he doesn’t seem heavier to me because I pick him up on a daily basis-I was totally shocked 3 weeks ago when he weighed so much. So it will be interesting to see what he weighs now. He is still swimming in his 0-3 month clothes, and the size 1 diapers fit just fine…but I am not going by either of those since he wore his newborn clothes and newborn diapers until he was 11lbs.
Anyway he is out cold so I should go and be productive and clean or something. Yesterday I organized the closet in the laundry room and made enough room in there for Joel’s old 2 shelf book case that he did not need in his den anymore, and I put my cookbooks on it. That cleared up a LOT of counter space for me and it’s great. I am not sure what I will do today, but I know I need to do more than just sit on my computer.
sharks,
