Selfish siblings
It seems somewhat counter-intuitive that "children with no siblings are the least selfish" but when I think about my younger sister, I'm not at all surprised that "researchers also found that having older siblings actually tends to make children more selfish." (from Nature news) -
The OED on screen?
An article in the Guardian (that I saw on LISNews) asks what reference book people would like to see made into a movie. This is apparently related to the fact that there's going to be a French Women Don't Get Fat movie (which makes me a little disappointed in Hilary Swank). There's always a Minnesota connection
You probably saw the news about Gary Gygax, the creator of D&D, dying recently. MNspeak made sure to point out that there's a Minnesota D&D creation connection. I don't think that's it's possible for an event to occur without Minnesotans finding the Minnesota connection. -
Leaping, hopping, and jumping songs, food, etc.
Last night I had a semi-impromptu Leap Day gathering. None of us had any good ideas for leaping/hopping/jumping food, but we could thank YouTube for providing appropriate music on the leaping, hopping, and jumping theme. Snow cream
I was making granola last night, and the smell of vanilla reminded me of my mom making snow cream when I was little on the rare occasions we got measurable amounts of snow.
