This line is fantastic - Anna kept her tone light but the burn on her tongue betrayed how quickly she’d swallowed her disappointment down.

I liked the same line that bleodswean did, and also that the prompt was implied in a literal sense and also shown via the multiple times when Anna's hopes and expectations were stripped away once more.
