Playing on hearts succeeds when the hearts split 3-2, 68%. But to get enough entries to the board, you use the heart A and must ruff a club winner. I took this approach and made 6.

Second one: Auction was fine. You're playing weak NT? (pard has a balanced 15 count) You have to keep in mind that most people play strong NT and will be in 4h on this hand off a Stayman auction, so you will need to beat their score. You didn't give the lead (just said you "won the lead"). Not sure why you overtook the d10 with the dQ..if you were going to play on diamonds then ducking looks normal.
I haven't been playing much recently either..haven't had much time. I'm going to try to make it to Vegas though

We were playing strong NT, but partner makes some unusual reads and tends to de-evaluate 15 counts with loose jacks and queens pretty often, and likes 5-card suits (we play 14+-17).
We ended up winning 3 IMPs because 4H was down 2 at the other table.
