Moving Update

Jul 16, 2007 09:50

We had an open house on Saturday and three prospective buyers came by. That may seem like a low number, but I'm pretty happy with it. The weather was crappy and the open house was only from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. so odds are these were serious shoppers and not curious neighbors. In addition, we had a showing before the open house, which meant we had ( Read more... )

Hey there! Sounds like you are in the swing of things with this relocation. I am crossing all crossables for you that your house sells! Nothing is selling in this market. It's ridiculous. I am sure we would have had to move Louisville (had it come through) and left our house unsold. Really hoping that is not the case for you!! What great timing for your mom's trip! :)

The good news is that houses are moving in our part of town and in our neighborhood. It's just a matter of getting that one person who thinks our house is the right fit.

Good luck on the house, it's got to be such a nerve-wracking thing to go through. Buying is hard enough; I can imagine that selling is twice as difficult, (even when it's easy!)

A rent-to-own situation would be great if you can find something like that!

And good luck on the job front. I'm glad that things seem more positive than negative. I'm sure this'll be a great move for you guys, and you'll fit in well once you get situated.

Sounds great, Kelly. There is so much excitement in your life right now. I e-mailed a good friend about housing for you. He is a pastor at First Presbyterian Church. http://www.fpchurch.com/pastors.asp#Tim - Tim Read I'll let you know what I hear from him. His wife was my youth pastor in Houston for a while. They have a slew of kids and you would love them. I'll make sure they get in touch with you because I know they would welcome you with open arms.

Since J will be gone, you could always come to Chicago! ;)

Thanks so much, Sarah. It's funny because when we were there and driving around, we didn't see one Presbyterian church. I knew there had to be at least a First Pres there but we saw everything but that. I joked to Jason that he was going to have to become a Baptist ;)

Oh now don't do anything drastic like that. There IS a Pres. church. ;) I'll forward you the e-mail he sent me. Feel free to e-mail him. He's a great guy.

fingers crossed that one of the house showings works out for ya!
and that is great about the university child care program - once they get older they need to be in something that will educate them and entertain them and I am sure that will!

Good luck with the house. It sounds like things are moving along.
It is sad to leave friends, but you'll stay in touch with them.
