Rant from Hell

We have one good pizza place in town. Which has now pissed me off so badly with their new check policy, they have lost my business... Fuck you Glass Nickel.

To use a check to pay for delivered food (that's delivered - to your HOME - where you LIVE) they demand ( Read more... )

A lot of retail places have been so badly burnt by checks over the years that they basically don't want them, and hope that by expending this kind of effort they will drive you to use either cash or credit cards. The bookstore where I work, since we started taking cards, averages less than one check a day out of a million-dollar-a-year business.

Well the bookstore doesn't have a freaky FBI database and deliver to your home either. Or does it...? WAIT - Do *not* want to know!

Pizza delivery used to be such a beautiful, sacred thing... I blame the government.

And now, poor sudo-Cedric will have to turn to a life of prostitution because his big tipper on M___ Street isn't supporting him anymore... Of course, he might make better tips from me *that* way. ;-)

Umm... Maybe I better f-lock this post... :::glurg:::

An all round winning idea. Better for your conscience, better for your waistline, not needing to eat so many pizzas to get to see him...

I think they forgot to request a DNA sample and the presence of a notary public. Sheesh! Pizza delivery is a sacred thing in our society, ranking above apple pie and baseball on my list. Argh!

Cedric - may I call him Ced? - will no doubt be crushed by your lack of patronage. You'll have to make sure to comfort him. Ahem.

Were we typing the word 'sacred' at EXACTLY THE SAME MOMENT???

:::shiver::: Get out of my head, you!

What's even stranger about sudo-Cedric (and he *really* did look like him) is that the night I got him was the night I saw GoF the first time! I got home from the movie, ordered a pizza, and voila! I actually had had the same delivery person from this place for over a year and then that night, Cedric. I was so stunned (and love-struck) I just studdered, blushed, and shoved some money at him...

That is just ridiculous. Definitely time to stop using them and let them know why.

I do need to let them know... (I almost called back and asked them to send a comment card.) I posted in a huff, but they are a really great company (besides having great pizza) and I really should let them know they stepped over the line with a loyal customer. Ugh - It's just so ANNOYING and INSULTING!

I understand completely. Still, next time you are around their place of business, stop in and fill out a card or talk to a manager. *hugs*

Yeah definitely let a manager know. I went to a pizza pick-up place once and they wanted my driver's license number on my credit card receipt. Since the state I had a drivers license from at the time used one's social security number...they had my SS number plus my credit card number and my signature. Hello, can you say fraud waiting to happen? I never went back.

Yes, I need to give them feedback - Besides having great pizza, they are a really good, progressive company and I owe it to them to let them know they crossed the line with a loyal customer. It just makes me so CRAZY - and I'll admit, I'm *insulted* (even though I realize why they do it has nothing to do with me...)
