The thing about the Tossers isn't that they sound like The Pogues but that they have the punk spirit down. Any further resemblance is quite secondary. (Besides, I've seen The Pogues. I don't need no imitators.)

Yeah, they really seemed very *genuine* and brilliant musicians. It's been a long, long time since I've seen a group like them and it pulled up something vaguely nostalgic in me - Even though I felt firmly planted here and now.

But I *do* think that lead singer sounds just like Shane, and the overall sound of the group is really, uniquely (until now) Pogues (something about the use of the whistle and drums, I think.) I think they stand firmly on their own, but I do hear it... I'm not trying to force it on them because I'm trying to make them something they're not - It's just there. I certainly don't want imitators - That's what I'm *resistant* to.
