[Video clicks on to Claudia holding a bow. She's holding it away from he body, uncertain what to do with it. She tries to sound confident, but it isn't exactly working.]
So I'm gonna try this whole archery thing. Why not? I probably won't shoot my eye out.
[She pauses, hesitating over that thought.]Yeah, everyone around the lake, keep eye out for

You ever tried shooting before, princess?

Plenty of times.
Just not with a bow and arrow.

[That actually gives him a moment's pause, because he's still not used to 'shooting' being used for really anything but arrows. But then he grins a bit.]
You want a little instruction, before you risk eye loss?

Thank you.
Teach me your ways Obi Wan.

[I'm sorry, Claudia, but... one of your arrows appears to have struck a local raven right through the wing! He is quite dramatically squawking bloody murder (without the added crows) as he beats his wings furiously to land upon the ground in a tumble.
Gasping, wheezing, and otherwise over dramatising the agony of his coming death, the raven (Bartiraven, to be precise) is crawling towards Claudia, leaving a trail of feathers.]
You... you did this...!
[Why, yes, a raven DID just accuse her of assault with a deadly weapon.
Bartimaeus, unfortunately, is just having a spot of fun. The arrow is uncomfortable and hurts, but all he need do is dissolve into a bit of smoke and let his essence heal up before he's right as rain.
But, where's the fun in that?]

After a few seconds her brain kicks in, and she rushes over to it. She hit a bird. A talking bird, but still she hit it. She's never shooting this stupid thing again.]
Frak, I am so sorry!
[Her hands hover over it's wing.]
Do I take it out or leave it in? Where's a vet?!?

Come to think of it, Bartimaeus is no expert on ravens, so the internalised slideshow is short.
Instead, he makes a show of laboured breathing, gesturing weakly at the arrow.]
Take it out... my heart... You shot me in the heart, murdere--
[Another dramatic gasp, avian frame shuddering with the effort - because you totally shot him in the heart! ...in his wing.]

I take it you've never shot a bow and arrow before?
[Then again, neither has Chloe. Hey, at least this girl seemed to have a sense of humor.]
Would you mind company, or would that just raise the risks of possible injury?
[She's grinning, but knows it'd be nice to have some kind of way to protect herself here.]
