It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year-R-Romance-Warning: Language

“Pull it!”

“What?”

“I said pull it Guinevere! PULL!”

“You don’t have to shout!”

“Then get a new set of ears so you can hear me! Shit Guin, I’m losing my arm here!”

She pulled.

She pulled so hard that the lumbering branches of pine and needles scraped against the open door and the pointy end of the huge object jabbed into his stomach.

“OW.”

“Well you said to pull.”

“Oh crap. Set it down.”

“Huh?”

“SET IT DOWN.”She dropped it to the floor. Giving a heavy sigh, Arthur moved to the door assessing the damage to his apartment. “Great. Now I’m going to have to pay for that. Tell me again why we’re doing this.” He rubbed his stomach, hand moving back and forth over his royal blue sweater where the pine needles had poked into ( ... )

One carol after another.

They had to keep singing them. Her mother loved to sing. Arthur hated singing carols. I mean, her Uncle Gaius was at the piano now belting them out, while her cousin Merlin, that weird goggle eyed man was dancing around the living room. They were the cheesiest family he ever met.

His parents, his sibling Morgana, nothing like this. They always picked out the most expensive tree and had it delivered. Someone actually decorated it for them. Presents too were ordered, with the perfect bows and all, not like the presents under the tree now, all so colorful cheesy and with a myriad of decorative accents that probably came from Target and CVS Pharmacy.

But an arm was around his shoulder and a pretty woman, Gwen’s mother, with a cap on her head was singing in his ear. And Arthur felt warmer than he ever did in his parents perfect mansion. So he sang with her that silly tune, It’s the Holiday Season, and he felt himself really getting into it without reserve. Feeling a pair of eyes on him, ( ... )
