I don't know that there are a lot of Brits hanging around for Britpicking, but I know junkshop_disco has done Brit-picking duty, and lazy_daze as well. princessd is Welsh, though I don't know if she Brit-picks or if she just writes.... and yes, I am trying to enable you. I don't want to be in this alone! :D I want to read more 1D fic, and I'll take it any which way I can get it. If I only could find a way to bring synchronik into the fold.....

Nooo, I would totally and completely read this and enjoy it and have very disconcerting protective feelings about Louis and his friendship with Harry D:. And I really actually wish someone would address something like this in fic!

(and I completely completely agree on being mortified that they flat-out ask these questions that are essentially about Louis being gay on the regular and it makes me want to crawl into a hole on behalf of fandom.)

oh, yay! I was like, "this is the most boring, depressing idea for a fic ever," so I feel better now.

And omg, yes, I worry for Louis and his frustrations, and how clearly it bothers him because of Eleanor, and I worry about what it says about fandom that we apparently have the power to change the narrative to a degree that it affects what actually gets said to them (although I think that's also a function of time and context, because we were writing all the fic in the world ten years ago, and no one was asking boyband members if they were gay on national TV.) And I have all sorts of thoughts about how Harry's heterosexuality is unassailable in a way that Louis' isn't, but that's a dissertation story.
