Today I read probably the best article I've found on JT Leroy. Which, yes, I know it's old news, but this is a fascinating take on it.

Other randomness I'm reading: the possible inspiration for Norman Bates in Psycho [1] [2]On an entirely different note, thoughts I've had about Panic at the Disco this morning ( Read more... )

I think Jon Walker is most excited about the fact that his mom likes the album. Which makes me happy.

It is completely precious. Though I wonder if his mom would have approved had he been involved in the whole "whore bride" era of the band.

I also love the way Jon does that. My theory is totally that Ryan makes him, because he doesn't like to think about a time before Jon Walker came into their lives. I mean, who does?

It gives me ridiculous fic ideas about Jon's reeducation. They withhold sex when he says "they" instead of "we" in interviews! He gets rewards for talking about what it was like to record the first album in Maryland! This all makes sense in my head.

I can totally get behind the kind of sense you're making. harriet_vane and I like to call it "awesome sense."

Ahahaha! It bears little relation to Earth logic, but it could totally happen that way, okay?

If Ryan and Spencer hooked up, would Brendon and Jon get them a "Congratulations!" card? Would it be one of those cheesy ones that play music? Would it play Vanessa Williams' "Save the Best For Last"?
Please yes. If everybody wishes for it hard enough, maybe it'll come true. Kind of like how believing in fairies saves Tinkerbell.

Possible songs:

Can You Feel the Love Tonight
Once Upon A Dream
He's A Tramp
Kiss The Girl

or A Whole New World, since it's the sentimental favorite.

Jon wants to be able to play all the instruments in the world! That is pretty awesome. Also, I find it interesting that they have no boundaries when they're together. Also, I would like to know more about this weird atmosphere they're planning to create. Also, Ryan does have a decent voice! Not as effortless as Brendon's, but still. Also, I require more squeetime with you v. soon!

If there's one thing I trust them to do, it's create a weird atmosphere. And have few boundaries, so two things, really.

And Lesa, I have played Behind the Sea an embarrassing amount of times today, and I love it more each time. I keep wanting to send it to people before I remember I have no critical distance, so it may not be as wonderful as I think it is.

Also, I may have to adjust my (non-existent) plot for rock biography!futurefic to include Ryan being an indie singer/songwriter. Maybe they have a long hiatus during which he and Spencer do little club tours by themselves while Jon takes celebrity portraits and Brendon does Broadway. I also have to remember that world-building is not plot, which I have trouble with.

And yes! Squeetime. My schedule is generally flexible as long as I have a little lead time, so whenever you're free and want to hang out, let me know.

Oh, I think it's about exactly that wonderful. Pls do not investigate the length of my own critical distance though.

INDIE SINGER CLUB TOURS I VOTE YES. AND YES AGAIN. Also, Brendon needs to do Broadway like burning or he will die. His life is going to be empty and meaningless until he does.

And, so! The best day for me before all my traveling shenanigans start is Saturday the 22nd. Any chance you're free that day?

Ryan and Spencer could book tiny shows under the name The Summer League, and only fans would get it and there'd be like fifty people who really like them huddled into a tiny club, and it would be awesome and laidback. I have thought about this too much.

And the 22nd works for me, as far as I know.
