The second example is contrived with Mr. Smith. Furthermore, I would agree that advertising that one has money in a bad neighborhood at night is exercising poor judgment if you have an alternative.

However, I don't think I know anyone personally who would say that stealing such a person's money, or raping a woman, is acceptable under any circumstances. Or would say that men have a right to unknown womens' bodies.

I've never assumed that I had the right to anyone's body without express consent. It's come to the point where almost nothing makes me angrier than some idiot man making the rest of us look like idiots vis-a-vis rape and the rights of women.
A very powerful and passionate piece. I just wish that every such piece I read didn't leave me with the feeling that I'm some kind of freak for being a man who agrees with it.
