I would just like to declare my undying love for Passions. This summer's big storyline (which isn't over per se but the characters are all back in Harmony now) involved Alistair Crane stealing the chalice from the Vatican, but first he went to the Virtual Vatican with Whitney with the power of virtual technology. I know you're a Passions fan! Because we talked about Spike's love for Passions and a Buffy/Passions crossover. I was so excited when I heard the name "Spike" on Passions because I hoped against hope that it would be James Marsters but no, it was someone else.
Wikipedia says:

In early 2006 rumors surfaced that Passions was on its way to cancellation. On May 29, 2006, NBC announced it would renew the program for an additional season, now slated to air through July 2007. However, the renewal also brought along significant budget cuts; the soap faces a dramatic $4-5 million slashing of its annual budget. Most of the budget cuts affected crew members and those not on the air, however John Reilly, Adrian Wilson, Kelli McCarty, Sharon Wyatt, and Amelia Marshall have all been released from their contracts, sparking fears that more cast cuts may be on the way.

Actually, I first found out about Passions from Buffy. In fact, the only things I know about Passions come from Buffy. Needless to say, I had no idea it was that weird. Not that it's a bad thing ...

I disagree entirely. Passions is the only soap opera I watch, and I have been doing so since freshman year at Goucher. Besides, Passions is so utterly absurd, not just with plotlines and dialogue but the special effects they use, I don't think you can group it with other soaps.
