Trying to figure out when that happened meant his shower took a little longer, but by the time he got out he had come to a few conclusions: they weren't crazy, for one thing, and whatever they had been, it wasn't genetic. It was a result of their situation, of the hell they lived through.
The fact that nothing God-awful happened on her birthday, save a week or so of staying mostly indoors, was a testament to that fact.
