She hadn't really realised it until yesterday, but they're getting better. She's getting better. She still has nightmares, but they aren't as plentiful. It's harder to push her into the brainspace where she stops thinking of herself as a person and starts thinking of herself as a tool, as a machine. There are still things, there are still triggers that can upset her or set her off. But they aren't as easily pressed, and this is a hell of a good thing. They know, for the most part, how to avoid them. Yellow, for example.

She's getting better, she's improving. It's a hell of a good thing. She's been thinking about that since yesterday. Thinking about a lot of things, in fact. Like what they'd vaguely discussed over Charlie's head. She's been thinking about that too. About their tendency to try and 'adopt' people.

She's thinking about it now, while she mixes the ingredients for a Linzer Tort and waits for John to get out of the shower.
