phase 5

Friday I am going to the Cross Cancer Institute for blood work and to see my oncologist. It has to do with the next possible phase of treatment. Phase 1 was surgery, phase 2 - chemo, phase 3 - radiation, phase 4 - tamoxifen and possibly phase 5 - arimidex ( Read more... )

I will. Arimidex is the current next phase of treatment/prevention. I could have been switched after three years of tamoxifen, but my hormone levels indicated that I wasn't in true menopause. I'm don't have to take it, much to discuss with the oncologist.

So where are you with the phases? Are you currently taking tamoxifen?

I finished phase 4 in April, after taking tamoxifen for 5 years. For the last couple of months I've been able to let my body rest from meds.

I'm with you on the arimidex. If I start taking it, it will be September. I'm still undecided.
