It takes talent

How does one sprain her finger while doing housework??? I don't remember doing anything out of the ordinary. All I know is that index finger on my left hand seems to be sprained. It's not bruised, and doesn't look swollen but it hurts and is a little stiff. At least it doesn't seem to be much of a bother ( Read more... )

I bet you sprained your finger shoveling snow. Hope it feels better tomorrow. The chair you mentioned, we call that style an Adirondack chair.

I think you placed the rocking chair in the best place so you can see your feeders while you knit & rock.

Nope, I sprained it before I went out to shovel. Perhaps I should change my name to Grace... I don't trip over grid squares but I do fall up the stairs.
Most people here call them Adirondack chairs too, but I'm originally from Ontario and there is a region called the Muskoka's which is primarily cottage country. It seems as if everyone has at least a pair of them. My grandparents had two and after I grew up I always wanted a couple. These ones are really heavy and need to be repainted but I love them.
My parent had, maybe still have a rock very similar to the one I have. It's part of what attracted me in the first place. I love sitting and rocking with a puppy or cat in my lap.

It was after I shoveled I threw out my hip. It happened two days after all my shoveling, reaching down for a handful of fleece. We might have to warm up before heavy exercise. (Heavy exercise being just about anything...)

The pictures are beautiful. I loved having snow here, although my activities were limited. Once I got my car where I could get out from time to time, it was lovely.

Enjoy this time, my friend.

The only thing I can think of is I might have wrenched my finger removing attachments from the vacuum cleaner hose. It's a new hose so removing attachments is a bit of an effort. (may qualify as heavy exercise???)

It works for me. Next time do some finger exercises before messing with the vacuum...

It is pretty and around here it's not out of the ordinary. My sister lives on the west coast and she had more snow on the ground at Christmas than we did.(she usually have green Christmases) Now there is terrible flooding because the weather has returned to "normal", they had lots of rain to mix with the melting snow.

Could you have irritated the finger with knitting? May sound dumb, but the dumbest things happen to us, when we stop to think about it.

Why yes I do.
I hadn't thought of that. It might be, I hold the yarn over that finger and pick it up off of it with the knitting needle. I guess warm up exercises before knitting are in order.

You live in a picture post card and the description of your chair looking out the window sounds wonderful. I'm sorry about your finger, I know the feeling of scratching your head trying to figure out how you sprained it. I did the same thing last summer.
