I've come at a most imperative time -- as though it were a celebration. How much of it is coincidence? They would know nothing of Akaneia's hard-earned victory.
I'm certain if she were here, she would love it. I believe I will send her flowers instead.
...
Could it be, however, that this place has not changed a bit in my absence?

You've been gone for a few days.

Surely you are mistaken, miss. A few days? Not in the least. I would certainly know a few days from a few years.

Um, I'm very sorry but...I recall talking to you about a week ago. We were even planning to hold a school tea social.

*Puzzles for a second, not too terribly good at human age guesses.*
....You get a haircut or something?

...Not so. Does it seem I have?
[And now he's going to be fingering his hair. Look what you did, Knux. Now he's self-conscious.]

Where'd you go, anyhow? Being it wasn't a barber shop apparently.

[There is a pause, brief and contemplative.]
There were pressing matters in Akaneia. I suppose if I had been any later, there would have been no hope. I never imagined it would be so long, however.

...But it looks like time passed a little differently for the both of us! A few years? I saw you last week! I wonder... how that happened?

... My goodness, I have not heard from you in quite a while.
[But then she read comments, and saw where he had been. She saw that he had been gone for years, as well, when it certainly hadn't been that long here!]
!!!
Y-You have been gone for so long? Yet only such a short time has passed here. How is this possible?

Clueless.
