I abhor portmanteaux to begin with, and this new generation of shippers (of all varieties) has a penchant for doing it to every possible pairing they get their hands on...but to do it to Kirk/Spock? How could they? Know they not the glorious origin of slash? And the / is a useful tool for all pairings, be they het or slash. And my God, people, what is so torturous about typing out the names of those involved? If that's so difficult for you, would using their initials not be simpler than your idiotic portmanteau? My God. And some of them are so convoluted that you need a fandom dictionary to understand what pairing you're getting yourself into just for a fic.
However, the ASC character codes have been updated (for those who still post fic to the old alt.startrek.creative via googlegroups) so there is an alternative. On the group they post an FAQ about 'coding your story properly' this is what it says about reboot...
AOS special note: All TOS codes migrated over to AOS. Usually actual characters who transfer between series would keep their code. In the case of the Spock played by Nimoy, however, we are making an exception, as one would expect the native to the universe character to use the code. We've already had stories using both Spocks, so we took guidance from the closing credits and used Spock Prime to refer to the original Spock.
K Kirk S Spock Sp Spock Prime Mc McCoy Sc Scotty
and so on. All Trek series have their own codes and I don't think it is any way a more complicated system than trying to remember which name corresponds to which 'ship.
Unfortunately the prevalence of portmanteaus/portmanteaux is partly Tumblr's fault, as they don't allow / marks in the tags. Not that I use tumblr but apparently that is the reason for the marked rise in them.

My hope is that this desecration will be so obviously absurd that it won't last and the universe will be righted back to Kirk/Spock again.

But that one is at least amusing;)

In conclusion, down with portmanteaux.

Have some extra-lovely Gillian to make up for it: http://frytha.tumblr.com/image/51208481167

Funnily enough, I go a nice, good quality 10x8 photo of that pic of Gillian, which is now hanging on my wall.
