How to cut a realtor loose

Hmmmmm, so I know it may not be the smartest thing in the world to do, but we REALLY like the realtor that is selling the home that we like.  We did have a realtor going into this that was sending us listings, etc.  But she is JUST NOT that helpful.  The new realtor came out today and looked at the house, wrote things down is going to do a market ( Read more... )

erm, I don't think you can just get rid of a realtor, nor can the one selling the house represent you. It's unethical. If you actually want to know, have Bill call Jonathan. We've dealt with this a lot.

I would tend to agree with Sarah that it probably isn't the best idea to have the realtor that's representing the house you want to buy represent you and sell your house. It really does present a conflict of interest. Not to be cynical, but she's probably being extremely helpful because she would be getting double the business from one client. Although I'm sure she's typically a nice person, you would probably be really nice to people who were going to get you double commission too.
As far as your current realtor, I don't know what the laws and ethics are, but I would say find another realtor, and then tell her that you found someone who better suited your needs. If she gets whiny, argumentative, and bitchy, hang up on her.

We might end up using her to sell the house (if we decide to do that) and use the realtor we've got now to get this house.
