Hmmmmm, so I know it may not be the smartest thing in the world to do, but we REALLY like the realtor that is selling the home that we like. We did have a realtor going into this that was sending us listings, etc. But she is JUST NOT that helpful. The new realtor came out today and looked at the house, wrote things down is going to do a market analysis for us (for free and she doesn't even know if we are going to work with her). Our realtor just sent me a couple listings for houses that are similar to ours (and her pricing is WAY off)
So what is the polite way to tell a realtor that you aren't going to need her assistance anymore (without lying about it....) I mean she's gonna eventually figure out what happened when she sees our house go up on the market and she didn't do it....but still. We are waiting to hear back pre-approval information from the bank, so I was debating just telling her that we weren't going to go that route anymore or something like that tomorrow, but I know she'll figure out that we ended up working with someone else. I feel a little bit bad, but she's truly not very helpful. She wasn't THAT helpful when we bought this house, but she sent us stuff over the years to keep us as clients, so we felt we owed her another chance, but she kind of lost that chance now.
The other realtor is very nice and answered my million questions I had about selling a house also promised to let us know if anyone else showed real interest in the house we want... ;) I'm very pleased with her and hope that all will go smoothly. I pumped her for information about the other house and why they were selling, etc and she told me everything I wanted to know.
EDIT: Yeah the other realtor can't represent us anyway because she's the selling realtor, so probably what we'll do is use the original realtor to buy the house (if this one doesn't work out we can find another realtor to continue our search) and then get this lady to help us sell the house.
Benjamin went down for a nap about 5 minutes before she got here and slept the whole time...so that was nice.
