With the exception of a few commissions for friends, I don't sell my hand knits.  Why not?  Simply put,  no one would be willing to pay what I would have to charge for any given piece in order to make it worth my time and energy.  This is a conversation I frequently have with non-knitters.  After I explain that you're average no frills basic hat ( Read more... )

When you're 7m pregnant and have 3 weeks of vacation to book before you go on mat leave they obvious thing to do is book long weekends from now till the end.  My plan was to get  a ton of holiday crafting done, especially knitting.  For the most part that's work out.  Slashing the holiday knit and craft list helped, subing in baking which is also ( Read more... )

My needles have been busy!  And my stash is looking decidedly smaller of my regular worsted fare.

This is a baby set I knit for a co-worker whose just left on maternity leave.  They'd decided not to know the baby's gender until birth so I tried to so with a gender neutral colour scheme.

I made this one up for myself a couple of months back using a unique skein of orange cascade 220 wool.  In the end sadly its a little too snug and rides up my head.  I guess I'll just have to make myself another one.
