Recovery

I am amazed at how much more I can do today. I walked out in the hall for the first time. I am moving to a rehab facility which sounds pleasant. Perhaps I can take pictures. I still fall asleep every chance I get although I slept better last night and went back to sleep after the early morning blood draw ( Read more... )

It sounds like you are doing great! And you obviously have a lot of persistence to post one letter at a time through iPhone, which will help in your recovery :)

You're going great. I had the same experience re: sleep, but it helps your body to heal so embrace it.

I didn't necessarily enjoy all my rehab center's other residents. Many, many small, bony women not quite understanding what's going on, and a really nasty guy next door who would alternately yell for, bitch at and then banish each and every nurse from his room. Sometimes he'd just lay there moaning and cursing for 30 minutes at a time. He'd start around 6 a.m. and not let up for long until around 10 p.m. That was very sad.

Again, keep up the walking and the sleeping and focusing on yourself and your recovery. And make sure the wheels on the shower chair are locked, 'K?

No wheels on my shower chair. I had better stay out of wheeled chairs for awhile. I'm not ready to practice getting up from the floor. Although the PT implied we might work on it. I want to be able to handle getting in and out of cars. Had a hard time today when they had me sit in a low recliner with pouffy arm rests. Nothing to push up from. I took myself off the Vicodon and am on straight Tylenol now.
My neighbor isn't as bad as yours was just a litany of "get me out of here" combined with a staff conference out side my room way too early this A M.
