I'm not sure whether Rael promoting something is good for the cause or not... he's kind of ultra-wacky...

He believes he was contacted by aliens who showed him how to become immortal through cloning (hence his organization "Clone-aid".). People still search for him on rialian.com, much to our amusement.

If nothing else, he's always been entertaining. Those crazy Frenchmen...

It's true. But as Marci Bowers is quoted as saying in the article, "They weren't anything different. It's just that they bought into this philosophy involving extraterrestrial beings on earth." The important part, I think, is that they are actually getting people together to do some real good in the world, regardless of what they believe.

And heck, it's not like their beliefs are any stranger things I've considered myself. It's more their unverified claims about human cloning and the money they charge for it that's questionable.

I guess we'll just have to see if this is a sincere effort or just another flash in the pan for Rael. I agree, however, that FGM is a crime against us female-type critters.
