Marth had a long day of preparing speeches and reading books and a great break for lunch would be absolutely perfect. The cafetorium was just the perfect place to go.

He retrieved some food and tea and searched for a seat. That's when he noticed a familiar face he hadn't seen for some time. "Do you mind if I join you for lunch?" he inquired politely.

Link had been brooding while eating his lunch, and thus had not noticed Marth until he had spoken to him. He jumped a little, startled, and looked up, and up a bit more to see Marth standing over him. He nodded and made room for the prince to sit down. He wasn't about to turn him away, as he had no reason to, but he felt a bit awkward to be sitting with him, and it wasn't just because he was so tall.

Trying to ignore the awkward feeling that was rising in his chest, Link gave him a forced smile. "You're taking classes as well, right? How are they treating you?" He hoped he wasn't the only one to feel like he was drowning in classes. Math wasn't the only thing he was having trouble with. He swore that this Shakespeare guy was talking in a different language, even if his professor told him he wasn't.

Marth smiled softly, his large blue eyes friendly as always. He took a comfortable seat across from Link, stirring his tea, then offering an answer to Link's questions. "I am," he replied. "Aside from Speech, classes are relatively smooth."

This was his second encounter with speech and it wasn't any easier than the first. At least it hadn't turned to disaster quite yet.

Link should have expected such and answer. Marth was a prince after all, so he was sure that he had some experience with school or academics before arriving to Aegean. Link, on the other hand, was not so lucky.

He didn't want to admit it, but he just couldn't get used to this place. Math was ridiculous, and the stuff he was supposed to be reading for English wasn't even in English! Physical science was also a pain. The only thing he understood so far was baseball, and even then he thought some of the rules were strange. He just nodded and took another bite out of his food and washed it down with some of the multitude of milk that sat on his tray.

The blue-haired kid was hungry. Studying was a lot harder here than it was at the monastery. Food was absolutely necessary right now and the Cafeteria was the place to go. He piled quite a bit of food on his tray, asking for more and more until the tray could hold no more. He tucked a soda bottle under his arm and searched for a seat when he noticed a familiar person with long ears.

"Mind if I sit here?" he asked. "I'm Vahn, we're in the same English and Math classes."

Link looked up and for a second thought it was Marth, as the person who had spoken to him had blue hair as well. It obviously wasn't though, as he had said his name was Vahn, and he was also a bit shorter than the prince. Link recognized him from his classes, though he had yet to speak with him.

"Go ahead. I'm Link." He shoved his own food an milk so there would be room for the other boy to sit either across or next to him. He felt a bit awkward asking, but he felt the need to anyway. "How are English and Math coming along for you?"

Vahn frowned at the mention of class as he took a seat across from Link. "I'm not too fond of this English book Professor has us reading. It's really weird how this Shakespeare person is manipulating the English language." English was weird enough as it were. Shakespearean English was just completely foreign.

"I wouldn't even call it English." He had complained to the professor before. There was no way to understand what was being said when the writing was mixed up like that. Link was sure that many of the words that were used didn't even exist.

"Math doesn't make sense either. I thought math only had numbers in it, not letters too." He had yet to grasp what was meant by a variable, and he couldn't understand why people didn't just write the number down. The formulas would probably make sense then.
