He had said it before, but if Rydia had truly wanted to go in formal clothing, then he would have conceded and done the same--and all the same would have protected his face. There was absolutely no sense in sharing his face. After all, even the Hero had only seen it that once. He'd never explained why, but the Sheikah was more interested in being inconspicuous. Somehow, though, he seemed to know that with Rydia on his arm, he wouldn't be able to avoid the commotion. How could anyone turn away from someone so lovely?

Sheik made no effort to withdraw when she seemed to look for his consent to go in. He really didn't know who he was expecting to see, aside from the Hero, whom he spied with a young woman in absolute pink. Chances were that Vahn would arrive later, and perhaps Bridget would as well. And of course, Albel Nox was going to show later.

He peered down to Rydia for a brief moment and gave her a vague smile, the kind of smile he reserved only for her, "You likely don't need to hear it, but I think you look wonderful."

And Sheik assumed that if Rydia saw any of her friends that she'd spoken of before, he'd come along. After all, anything else would have been rude. To be quite honest, he was at the very least, intrigued by the idea of making sure he could introduce her around to his as well--assuming she didn't already know them.

To hide any chance of a growing flush, he lifted a hand and scratched at his cheek, as though to say he was going to brush off her compliment. "What would you like to do?" he asked instead. Not that he really knew what to do. They could either mingle, or he could put his light feet to the test.

Rabi had never been one to doll up. His outfit was simple. A nice shirt, his usual white pants and knee-high boots, his hammer strapped to his leg in its holster. No one he knew had shown up yet. So the redhead simply folded his arms and leaned against the wall, observing the scene and assembling the multiple conversations he heard at once into separate cohesive conversations.

Rabi blinked. This was odd. Rarely did Kanda ever approach Rabi except to give threats or orders. Or save his hide just that once.

But that, of course, didn't mean the redhead wouldn't be pesky. "Yo, Yuu~♥" he gave his ally a small yet friendly wave.

He didn't want to be at a school prom. The thought of it reminded that in the near future his own baby girl was going to be putting on makeup and some horny teenage boy would be trying to get her into the back of his Hummer.

Part of him was thankful that Nanako was an undetermined number of miles away. But, it would have been nice to have her around to pick out his tuxedo and give him advice on to what to expect. It must have been a good couple of years since his last date.

Though, a woman like Peorth...hell, didn't she say something about being a goddess? Well, that could have been too much for the detective in more ways than one.

An expanded service package? That was something that any man would want to have, right? At least, you would think that simply because it sounded like it would come with an oil change. And even that sounded a bit wrong if you read it out loud.

"Ah. Thanks... I feel a bit like a penguin, but..." Honestly, he was anything but comfortable in clothes like this. A simple brown suit was the preferred method of clothing himself. "You look..." It had been a long time since he had been on a date, he wasn't sure what he should say. Lovely? What was the new term that the kids were using? Banging? "exquisite yourself."

Offering a small smile, he offered his arm to the goddess so that they could make a proper entrance.

Anyone else in their right mind probably would have taken one look at Cassandra and pushed her aside. In fact, after listening to the radio cast, Caim wanted to just ditch her, especially when she found out she wasn't going to be winning the Prom Queen title. In consequence, when that happened, hopefully she'd be in a corner, passed out, and he could go find K-Na or Edge and Zalbag.

Instead, Cassandra had worn that Grecian traditional garb, which... surprisingly didn't leave much to the imagination. It seemed that everyone from her homeland was bent on procreation or lust or something that was equally... impure in Caim's eyes.

This is just my luck. She said what she wore wouldn't embarrass me...

It was the last time--most likely not--that he would trust her.

Of course, Cassandra would wear something traditional. She was Athenian, after all. It wasn't as bad as it could be but at least it wasn't entirely transparent. It was ... um.... tastefully transparent.

At least she wasn't jumping up and down.

But there she was, with Caim, happy as a clam. "This place is like so hot!"

He sighed, though it was more to himself than to be heard aloud. Of course with her as close to him as she was, or the potential she had to be, she'd probably heard anyway.

"Aren't you a little too excited about this?" He shook his head slowly with a vague disapproval. Well, at least she wasn't beating him up, right? That would have been so much worse. "Whether you are or not, I guess it doesn't matter. What do you want to go do?"

Cassandra understood about half of what he had essentially said, but the last part made sense. "What do you want to do?" or something close to that. That was enough for her.

She grabbed his hand and started dragging him off towards the food. "Let's like have something to eat before we like dance!"

How did one go about impressing someone? Not that it was really him trying to impress. At least that was what he told himself. He didn't need to impress anyone. He impressed himself and that was good enough. And when fortune was really with him, he impressed Hanpan. Most of the time, he just impressed himself instead.

Samus was likely to arrive later, and he knew Urd has her own date. It left Jack on his own until he either saw Ramza or Rudy, or maybe that Peorth. But knowing her, she had her own date as well and wouldn't be making her rounds until later. That left him at the table.

With the punch. And damn, was it good punch.

Ties sucked. They really did. He kept tugging at it, but it still felt weird. And uncomfortable. For the sake of the event, he would put up with it of course, but...well. It did put a slight damper on his mood, although the newness of the prom shifted his focus a tad. So this was what all the fuss was about, huh...?

Rudy wandered on in on his own as well, since it hadn't really occurred to him to look for a date. Even if he had thought of it, he probably would have been too shy to go through with it anyway. Still, what if he had asked... Nah. Way too soon. Once he snapped himself out of that reverie, he quickly noticed Jack and made his way over.

"Looks like you beat me here," he said with a bit of a smile.

There was absolutely no way Jack could protest. He was very much in the same boat. Even if he looked remotely comfortable in his ridiculous suit, it was nothing short of a facade, and chances were--if Rudy was capable of hiding it--that the blue-haired ARMs wielder felt the same way.

He'd been in the middle of a drink, something about the taste having rendered nostalgia to him. When he was addressed, however, it completely negated any theorizing he had plans to do and he nearly choked when he saw Rudy looking about as sheepish and yet childishly charming all the same.

"You actually came!" Jack commented, unable to hide the incredulous expression in his tone. He cleared his throat and shook his head slowly, "You were so hesitant when we talked about it. I thought maybe you'd change your mind and not come, after all."

Then he lifted an eyebrow, "Huh...? What's this? No date?"

Hiding things were usually hit-or-miss with him. If he truly put his mind to it, he could make use of a facade well enough, but other times he was just an open book. At the moment, he looked as cool as a cucumber.

Rudy shook his head as well, that smile still remaining constant. "I promised I would," he said simply as he sat down. He had been curious too, but that reason paled in comparison. Besides, it wasn't like he was only attending out of obligation or anything like that.

There was a distinct change in his expression at that last question, though. His contentment almost instantly changed to embarrassment as he looked away, clearly taken aback. "Well..." he hesitated. His brain seemed to be deserting him in this time of need. "I wasn't... I guess I just forgot." Real articulate there, Rudy. But that just added to his aforementioned charm, didn't it? Maybe? A tiny bit?
